Santa Teresa di Gallura extends on a promontory overlooking North the southern coast of Corsica, which is just 11 miles away, and North-East the archipelagus of La Maddalena. The town of Santa Teresa di Gallura is built around two bays: the one of porto Longone, at the end of which there is a small port, and the one of Rena Bianca, which holds a beach of fine white, thin sand.

From Santa Teresa di Gallura in a few minutes you reach one of the most famous places in Sardinia, Capo Testa, called with this name due to the massive shape of the rounded headland, set on the fragile "neck" of a sandy isthmus that connects it to the mainland. To increase the reputation of Capo Testa contribute the coves of white sand (important to see is the beach of the two seas), transparent turquoise waters and magnificent views of the Bocche di Bonifacio and the nearby Corsica.

Another place that is worth visiting, is Vignola. Here you can find one of the most extensive and popular beaches on this side of the coast, which offers the possibility to stop at the well organized camping, surrounded by pine trees and stretches behind the beach. From here the granite changes appearance and colour, compared to the one of Capo Testa: this area of coastline, to Isola Rossa, is in fact characterized by a warm reddish granite.

Continuing the exploration of this fascinating stretch of coastline in the direction of the Castelsardo, you can reach the beach of Badesi Mare. It is a beautiful golden beach, long and deep, very exposed to westerly winds (here you can surf) and yet faces a clear and transparent sea. This is the most extensive beach on the Northern coast.
