Dar Salam is the center of the city of Bamako.

Dar Salam is bordered by the street for Koulikoro and the foothills. It is home of three museums of Bamako,together with the seat of government, various ministries and the headquarters of the bank of West Africa. It is the core institution of Bamako, but is not in the center of the capital, is indeed located on the eastern border demarcated by the River Niger.
