The National Museum in Bangkok (Bangkok National Museum) is one of the greatest of all Southeast Asia and is ideal for all those interested in the roots of Thai culture.
At the National Museum in Bangkok are many relics of the old capitals Ayuthaya and Sukhothai.You can follow a guided tour in English, lasting about two hours every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 in the morning.
The museum is divided into six halls, the first immediately on your left is the Sivamokhapiman Hall, where you can buy tickets to all the museum and look at the gallery related to prehistory, including writing n.1 of the Sukhothai era, written by King Ramkhamhaeng and considered as the first work of Thai literature, which describes the prosperity of the Sukhothai kingdom. The writing is so famous that all the little school students, are taught the first verse, which reads "bplaa mee naam nai, nai naa mee kao" ("in water fish, in fields rice....") .
Opposite is the chapel Buddhaisawan that contains a Buddha image sacred to the Thais.
Other interesting findings of the National Museum in Bangkok are: gems, weapons, real estate, musical instruments and art objects in general.
