The Arco de Triunfo (Arch of Triumph in English) is a magnificent monument in Barcelona designed by Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas in 1888 as the main entrance of the Universal Exhibition that took place in the park of the Ciutadella.

The brick structure of the Arco de Triunfo was built according Mudejar art (art movement that developed in the late nineteenth century in Madrid) is about 30 meters high.

Several sculptors sculpted sides of the arch of triumph: in the front there is "Barcelona receives the nation" by Josep Reynès; in the back of Josep Llmona carved "prize-giving participants exposure", while the left and right sides, respectively, are allegories of Industry, Agriculture and Trade of Antoni Villanova, Science and Art by Torquato Tasso.

The Arco de Triunfo, in addition to its beauty and artistic value, it is interesting because unlike all the other archs, usually erected to glorify military events, is the artistic progress, science and business that the city of Barcelona gained at that very period . The Arch of Triumph is the symbol of his (re) birth.
