Reviews on Saint Club

A little further from the Casa Batllo, at number 92 of Passeig de Gracia meets another beautiful building of Gaudi: Casa Mila, popularly called La Pedrera (stone quarry), built between the years 1906 and 1910 for the marriage of Roser Segimon and Pere Milà.

Please note that Casa Mila was the last civil project of Gaudi in Barcelona and became for many the work that best represents the synthesis of the author.

Casa Mila is composed of only straight lines, combined to form fully curved spaces. The whole façade of La Pedrera is made of natural stone, with the exception of the top, which is covered with beautiful white tiles. The combination of these two materials evokes the figure of a snowy mountain.

On the terrace of Casa Milà are big climbs of stairs and steps covered with fragments of bottles, which take the form of heads of warriors covered by helmets.

Of boundless beauty are also the wrought-iron balconies that simulate climbing plants.

Currently, the Casa Mila is owned by a bank that has made continuous restoration and preservation, and keeps it open allowing the visit to the public.

Even La Pedrera, like Parc Guell has been declared World Heritage Site.

Admission: 9.50 euros; students: 5.50 Euro

Opening of the Casa Mila:

Mon-Sun: 09h00-18h30

(From March to October: 09h00-20h00)
