The vibrant culture and the artistic life, the museums and the clubs of the underground scene, the inharmonies inherited from a difficult past which still exists in the streets, form that peculiar charm which surrounds Berlin, which is firmly imprinted in memory of those who visit it.

Emblem of these contrasts, is the memorial to Jewish victims of the Shoah, Holocaust-Mahnmal, which stretches over an area of approximately 20 000 square meters, occupied by 2,711 concrete blocks of different heights, and an underground space that houses in letters, testimonies and names of all victims of the greatest horror that has tainted the twentieth century.

The maze of concrete blocks that constitute a stretch of gray to the eye, give the visitor a sense of anxiety that rises to the memory of the Holocaust, making it visual tragedy. The silence of the concrete blocks, which in their arrangement are similar to cold stones, tell the story of the Nazi destruction with a force that directly affects the sensitivity of the visitor, disoriented in the contrast between the order of arrangement and the different heights of the blocks. Place of reflection that has to be visited, was opened in 2005.
