The eighteenth century Villa Spada is one of the most popular parks in Bologna. The villa is totally immersed in the area of the district of Saragozza in Bologna.

Built by Giovanni Battista Marinetti on commission of Jacopo Zambeccari, the same architect was responsible for the Italian-style garden which surrounds the villa and liaises with the surrounding park, prior to construction of Marinetti: its main terrace is in fact reached through the windows of the Meridian Hall, located between the first and second floors.

Zambeccari were the owners of the villa until 1811, after which the property passed into the hands of Madame Beaufort, wife of Prince Clemente Spada Veralli (who was given the name of the villa). It was the Marchesa to prepare the completion of the complex. After a complete rewrite of ownership, finally, in the '60s, the Villa and the park were purchased by the city of Bologna, which made them open to the public.

The Villa houses inside the Historical Educational Museum of Upholstery, whose assets consists of about six thousand pieces of cloth, and the library of the district in Saragozza on the back there is the Balcony of students,a skylight transformed by the a library-goers in a real break area for summer study.
